10 TIPS for PET HAIR REMOVAL

If you are a proud pet owner you have probably faced the impossible task of removing pet hair from the carpet and upholstery of your car. When it is time to sell your vehicle, a clean pet hair free vehicle can make all the difference in finding a buyer.
1. RUBBER GLOVES
Put on a pair and wet the fingers or lightly mist the area with water. Rub the carpet or fabric in one direction to gather the hair in a big clump making it easy to vacuum up.
2. VELCRO CURLERS
Old self sticking velcro curlers can be used like a lint brush to remove stray hairs. Since there is no adhesive they don’t ever lose their effectiveness and can be used over and over again.
The static quality in balloons can be used to attract hair and are great to use to get the last pieces of hair off upholstery. A few balloons may be required as it is hard to remove the hair from the balloons once collected.
4. FABRIC SOFTENER
Fabric softener ingredients help loosen hair. Mix a few spoonfuls of fabric softener in a spray bottle with water. Spray on and wipe the fabric with a paper towel. Let dry and use a vacuum to remove the loosened hair. Your car will smell great too!
5. RUBBER BRUSH
Pet stores often carry a selection of rubber brushes made for the job. These come in different sizes and shapes to get into all the cracks and crevices in your vehicle. They work great and can be rinsed clean to use again and again.
6. VACUUM ATTACHMENTS
some vacuum brands have attachments specifically for removing pet hair. Do your research as there are many that work with various results. Search the web for reviews before buying one of these.
7. DUCT TAPE or PACKING TAPE
A roll of tape can be very effective as the hair sticks to it and doesn’t fly around the car attaching itself on another part of the carpet or upholstery. Tape is effective at getting the final pieces of hair out of your car for good.
8. PET HAIR ROCK
Another item found at pet stores or car detailing stores that can be rubbed on the carpet or upholstery to gather hair into clumps that can be vacuumed up.
9. GROOMING GLOVE
This is meant to rub along your dog to remove loose hair and reduce shedding. It is also a great tools to remove dog hair from your vehicle. It has little bumps that help loosen hair and the hair sticks to the rubber glove for easy removal.
10. STICKY LINT ROLLER
Just like tape this is an effective way of removing hair and keeping it from floating around and resticking elsewhere. These are more expensive but easier to use than packing or duct tape.
