Hamed Abu-Al-Haj

Hamed graduated from the University of Calgary with a Business degree specializing in Real Estate and Development. After three years in the commercial real estate industry, he transitioned into insurance in 2024 and has since focused primarily on the construction and rail sectors.

Having been raised in Calgary, Hamed was naturally drawn to the construction industry and the role it plays in shaping the city around him. Working with contractors, developers, and other businesses shaping Calgary’s future allows him to play a part in the continued growth and development of the city he calls home.

Hamed has also developed a strong interest in the rail sector, working with Canadian companies that support and service the industry. Ensuring the unique risks the rail industry faces and helping them build insurance programs that allow them to operate confidently and continue to grow.

His background in real estate gives him a practical understanding of the development process, allowing him to approach insurance from both a business and risk perspective. At Navacord, Hamed is focused on building strong, long-term relationships with his clients and taking the time to understand their businesses beyond simply placing insurance. He enjoys working collaboratively with clients to identify risks, navigate challenges, and develop insurance programs that support their continued growth.

Outside of work, Hamed likes to stay active and spend time with his girlfriend and friends. You’ll usually find him golfing, playing pickleball, travelling, or searching for new records to add to his collection at home.
